How to ensure exchanging medical information is kept safe within a hospital environment?

How do you coordinate care more effectively for healthcare professionals and patients throughout the treatment process? By ensuring that medical data flows smoothly and securely within a hospital environment. The Enovacom software package contains all the features required to achieve this.

Efficient healthcare is reliant on every hospital worker involved in treating a patient to work closely and have full visibility of the patient journey

Making information flow safely between physicians

Hospital departments use a myriad of technology solutions for everything from medical consultations, specialised examinations, admission, rehabilitation and patients discharge.

These systems can be used to generate information that must be made available to all appropriate healthcare professionals to ensure that treatment is consistent and to avoid unnecessary or repeated procedures.

Health data must be centralised or, at the very least, be able to move smoothly and transparently from one IT system to another for the carer to be able to support the patient in the most effective way possible.

Making all business software interoperable

Unfortunately, not all software programmes are able to integrate with each other. For example, during Territorial Hospital Groups’ (GHT) training sessions, we have often seen that programmes used in facilities within the same localised area do not use the same language standards. According to the TicSanté study, only one in three healthcare organisations was interoperable with its neighbour in 2016 in France. The situation has hardly changed since.

As a result, accessing data can be complicated. This situation is even more significant when data needs to be moved from hospitals to a doctors’ surgeries, and even between independent specialists. It is necessary to use an interoperability platform to overcome these issues.

Aside from facilitating access to patient information, this also makes it much easier to integrate new solutions into the IT system used by either the healthcare organisation or GHT, as well as gain access to the latest innovations.

Dematerialise hospital IT system documents and guarantee their confidentiality

Furthermore, many healthcare information is recorded on paper which is expensive and inefficient when sent through the post. How many examination reports, laboratory test results and medical records have been either lost, or consulted by people who weren’t supposed to see them? A solution is to scan them electronically and securely.

It is also important to index and integrate them into a common regional depository. Accessible centralised information, should be kept confidential, with access rights defined for different healthcare professionals.

This can be easily achieved by setting up a directory of authorised professionals, which can be amended in the future.

A software package capable of streamlining and securing patient data flow

Enovacom helps healthcare organisations better support more efficient patient treatment by making information available, safe and relevant to the scenario. To meet different needs, the Enovacom Suite has created a software package which uses six main eHealth functions to organise patient care as part of medical treatment:

  • Making sure patient identification is reliable
  • Streamlining healthcare data exchange
  • Ensuring information is available at the point
    of care
  • Securing patient data and controlling access
  • Being able to respond quickly to exceptional
    health situations
  • Facilitating IT system urbanisation on a
regional scale to be able to use the data over

Thanks to this software package, healthcare professionals have all the necessary features required to benefit from smooth and secure information flow for effective multi-professional patient care.
