How it works ?

Enovacom is 100% software. Its biomedical interoperability solution is independent of medical device manufacturers and publishers of clinical software or business solutions.

Based on expertise acquired over 18 years in the field, Enovacom has developed a biomedical interoperability platform capable of automatically collecting and reporting data from biomedical devices directly to the patient record.

The objective: To eliminate time-consuming administrative tasks, avoid errors in transcriptions and manual re-entries, and improve monitoring of the patient’s health status. Above all, Enovacom’s solutions save time for medical teams. As a result, nursing staff and their colleagues can focus on their core responsibility: patient care.

The connection to the service is done in four phases:

  • Authentication of nursing staff
  • Association of the device with a patient
  • Definition of the measurement interval
  • Enabling or stopping data collection

Several types of integration are possible with business applications.

Strong integration with the care record makes it easier for medical staff to adopt the solution. They can reserve a device for a patient or periodically check the status of data collection.

Note that integration depends on the technology of the devices used and the capabilities of the patient record.

Data structure

Our solution has been developed using the latest technologies. It is structured around several components:

  • Repositories
  • Users: A database of people with access to the application. They may belong in one or more care unit.
  • Patients: The repository is automatically populated via an HL7 IHE PAM flow, allowing patient demographic and location data to update in real time.
  • Structures: The repository is also populated by the IHE PAM flow and filled in automatically. The descriptions of beds, rooms and care units are contained in this type of message.
  • Devices: The list of biomedical equipment, as well as its location, assigned care unit and mode of communication, is required.
  • Communication libraries: Developed for each device, these are used to receive information from biomedical equipment. These libraries are developed in accordance with the specific protocols of the manufacturers. The same library can support several devices.
  • A user interface: This provides healthcare professionals with a dedicated interface to view patient identification and device associations.
  • A rules engine: The management rules defined and configured in the tool will be run in an independent engine. A rule creation wizard lets you apply them to devices in just a few clicks.
